Occhio stands for exceptional design, unique light quality and the highest-possible, “joy of use” – and thus for a new culture of light. Established by designer and entrepreneur Axel Meise in 1999, Occhio was based on a simple yet revolutionary idea: creating a luminaire system that is consistent in design and light quality, offers an optimal solution to meet every room need – and turns people into the lighting designers of their own space. Offering universal designs and quality light, Occhio connects spaces and enables entire buildings to be designed with the highest-possible quality of light – in both private and commercial areas. Today, Occhio is one of the most innovative and fastest-growing companies in the industry. It has evolved from a German design icon into an international luxury brand. With its headquarters in the heart of Munich, Occhio now employs more than 240 people. Its sales are channelled through more than 500 speciality lighting retailers and the company’s flagship stores in Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai.
During Milano Design Week 2023, Occhio provided an insight into the future of light with “New horizons - an immersive experience” on the grounds of Villa Necchi Campiglio. Visitors experimented a multisensory staging and assist to an unconventional product presentation.
